Hello and welcome to my page! I'm Ummi Salma Ahmed-Sumaila, and I'm thrilled to share my journey with you. Hailing from the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria, my story is a blend of curiosity, hard work, and a passion for technology.
Early Days and Education
Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, my early interests were far from technology. Graduating High School at 14, I spent two years learning hand skills and computer literacy before pursuing a Computer Science degree at Crescent University, graduating with top honors.
Skills
I enjoy analyzing data using SQL, Python, and Excel, and creating visual stories with Power BI and Tableau. My design skills shine with Figma and Sketch, transforming ideas into user-friendly designs. I'm also a strong communicator and researcher.
Resume
I started as a UI/UX Design Intern learning to create user-friendly designs at Global Accelerex Ltd., followed by a Data Analyst role at Paytec Systems Ltd., creating dashboards and uncovering insights that boosted revenue. Currently, I'm an independent Contractor specializing in academic writing, developing research and writing skills through detailed academic reports and client collaboration.
